Snow!

O my God, I got such a great gift from Mother Nature today! It's snowing here! And I do like snow, I like the whole world around being white and quiet and I always have such a Christmas feeling when it's snowing outside. So I couldn't resist and grabbed my camera to catch a couple of pictures as it doesn't snow so often here.

And here you go a picture of happy Little Man who is so interested in my camera, that it makes me think that he might become a photographer in the future.

Now it's time to make some tea, light the candles and finish some knitting while Little Man is asleep.

Hope your day was fab too and let it end with a nice evening :)

New charity project - "Knit for Japan"

Looks like I found a charity project I'll participate in this year. It's called "Knit for Japan" and was started by a german, who lives in Japan to help the victims of March 2011 earthquake in Japan. First he wants to join all the granny squares into a huge blanket for the Ginnes record book and then the blanket will be divided back into regular size afghans and donated to temporary housing facilities in Tohoku/ Japan, to support victims of the March 2011 earthquake. You can follow the link and find out more, or may be participate too.

Last year I made a charity blanket for the orphants in Russia. Here it is finished before I sent it:

Hope one little girl really loves it as it was really a lot of love put into it :)

I think that it is quite a good tradition - participating in at least one charity project every year. I really believe in this things. And I believe in them more than in donating some money.

Duck family busuness

There is a pond just 5min away from our house. I've posted some pictures of it in winter here and here. Now it's all changed there and last time we were there we noticed a lot of new duck families growing around the pond.

IMG_2270

This one was the first one we met. 3 ducklings and their parrents.

IMG_2292

The next couple had 5 ducklings. They look bigger and older but still try to be closer to mum and dad.

IMG_2299

This family has 3 apparently big ducklings and they even were not afraid of people passing by.

Safe road crossing: one of the parrents in the front, then all the babies and the other parrent behind.

There even is a swan couple and I really wanted to find them to check if they have some babies too. Well, yes, they have! And they have a lot!

There definetly were 5 of them. May be even more as some were hiding.

And have you noticed the whole field of little white flowers on the pictures. Well, here they are:

I could not resist to make a close-up :)

Little Man was looking around from his new pram (we call it Ferrari or the fire brigade car as it's bright red), made some funny noises and even let me make a picture of him:

It is so lovely to live near such a nice place and to see how seasons change there.

My Little Man's first trip

IMG_1696

On friday, as my husband had a day off we decided to make a one-day trip and chose Whitby for that purpose. The most important thing was that this trip was the first one for our Little Man. He did well in the bus and was ok almoust all the time in the town. But before going back he started screaming and crying for no reason so we decided that probably this trip was too long for him and we should vait before trying to make something similar again.
Still I managed to make some pictures.

Whitby is a nice town with it's own atmosphere, but it's a really small one in comparison with ours. Still the sea was amazing. And scones in Whitby Tea Rooms were good aswell. There we stopped to feed Little Man and to have some coffee.

That's how the Little Man looked when asleep. Most of the time back he was like that and woke up in the last 20 min. Then I had to take him and we were looking at the hills, houses and trees we passed.

Probably he is really too small for going somewhere for the whole day, but i just couldn't sit at home one more day. I really needed some new places. And I like the process of going to some destination. Sometimes I like that even more than the destination point itself.
Now, with Little Man it's all different. But I hope to show him how beautifull this world is and that traveling is wonderfull, because it is a process of collecting world beauty in your treasury. I hope he will like it as I do.

Last week in pictures

It is so hard to believe that last week it was really cold outside and we had a lot of snow. I even had to stay home instead of going to my knitting club (yes, we have a knitting club and some day I will make a special post about in). All I could do is stay at home and make some photos through the window. Like this one:

Even the next day it was quite tricky to go down the hill witl Little Mans pram. But we managed to do it and had a nice walk in the park down the road. I've allready posted some pictures from there. It is a nice place with a pond (not shure if that is an artificial one or not) with some little iselands on it and a couple of bridges. There are no squirrels sike near our old apartment, but there are ducks, swans and geese.

The pond was covered with ice and looked amazing.

I made some nice close-up photos of leaves under the snow. I really like this kind of pictures and can't resist making a photo when I see some beautiful piece of nature like this.

That's why I've got tons of photos like this and I never print them out because I'm not shure what should I do with them after printing. So it's nice to have my own blog and post them here just for my own pleasure and inspiration :)

My little Man tried out his new outfit with funny red stripes and a train.

IMG_1466

I think he looks great in it :) It just makes me wonder why so many baby clothes are stripy? is there some secret meaning in it?

Then it was a couple of days when we both felt sleepy. Little Man is a lucky one - he can sleep when he wants and as many hours as he wants.

But adults can't just sleep the whole day through, so I was truing to make myself busy implementing the lack of energy with a lot of coffee. It didn't really help, but I made some baby crochet stuff and fount some nice baby crochet and knitting patterns fot the future.
Well, it wasn't a bad week after all. Especially the time I've spent with my Little Man and my husband :)
